Formal Education & Training

Usha has a post graduate diploma in Multimedia, along with a Bachelor Arts degree in Social Science. While at university she worked in the Film industry, eventually becoming a creative professional with a talented eye for design in still and moving images. As an experienced filmy and designer she accrued years of Directing, Assistant Directing, Editing and Graphic design work under her belt.

In the mid 2000 she put her career on hold to raise a family. Her foray back into the healing arts was also reignited as she stepped back into the wananga space. Once her whanau had grown, Usha transitioned into the world of apiculture working in the industry a few years, gaining invaluable hands on experience, before starting her own beekeeping business; Queen Bee Limited, having also completed NZQA level 1, level 2 and level 3 in Apiculture.

Usha’s field of expertise covers a myriad of healing modalities including energy healing through hands on, touch, sound, movement, breath work and distant healing.

She is a qualified Ashtanga yoga practitioner having completed teacher training and certification with 800+ hours, as well as a qualified Reiki Master/Teacher of the Usui & Ryoho method of Reiki. Usha studied ‘The Sharman’s Way’ another modality of intuitive healing.

Usha began studying the traditional teaching and philosophies set forth by the Maori healer (tohunga) Hohepa Delamere, known affectionately as papa Joe, through a series of specific wananga held by Te Maurea. She trained as rongoā practitioner (traditional maori healer) and kaiako of the wananga lore, principles, philosophies and practical application of romiromi & mirimiri.

Usha is also proficient in rongoā rakau due to the time spent with her Koro and various wananga over the decades, adding to her knowledge base.

A dedicated martial artist and instructor, Usha trained & taught internal & external martial arts; Tai Chi Chuan & Shaolin Kempo gaining 15+ years experience in these martial art forms.

Additionally to all of the above, Usha also has the capacity to work as a sound activator, delivering group activation through voice led sound journeys providing beneficial shifts on a physical, cellular, emotional and soul level as well as the ability to channel Universal language & high frequency information during sessions.
