Foundational Wānanga Details

This Wānanga will be held over consecutive Saturdays for six weeks beginning on the 19th of October and concluding on the 23rd of November 2024. Each week we will work through aspects and details of your Rongoā practice, addressing core components of karakia, takutaku and kaupare. We also delve into the importance of a self-reflective practice and how this contributes to your healing journey.

Over the six weeks you will be given practical exercises and tips for tuning into your unique abilities of perception, as well as grounding and breathwork techniques. We explore the universal principals of IO matua kore through kōrero, enlivening that inner-knowing to be grounded into your reality.

Basics of romiromi will be imparted such as how to approach the tinana, alignment, haemata pressure points & effective technique and placement, safety aspects, the importance of maintaining neutrality, as well as the ability to mirimiri through kōrero and communion helping kiritaki build new awareness.

After the initial 6 weeks, follow-up clinics will be held throughout the summer months to allow you to develop your practice through hands on experience under the supervision of senior rongoā māori practitioners. These will be in the form of community drop-in style clinics and provide an opportunity for your continued growth as a practitioner.

Exchange covers the weekly sessions (6) and provides eligibility to participate in the summer clinics:

– Full Payment, Early manu (up to 30th Sep): $1998

– Full Payment (after 30th Sep) $2664

– Payment Plan (6 weeks) $444 per week.

Held in Taumarunui township, 10am-3pm (incl. 45mins lunch break) each Saturday on the following dates:
